Penang Trip (11 - 13 Apr 2010) with Baby, Mummy, 3rd Aunt and Granny

1st day
Dad send us to the airport at around 4.30am. We queue for our boarding bus and head for breakfast at BK. We board the flight at around 7am and reach Penang and around 8.30am. Initially we wanted to take taxi to our hotel but it was too ex plus we need to split to 2 cabs, I have also see reviews on forum that its easy to take bus there, so in the end we took bus to our hotel. The bus driver was so kind to ask the passenger to give their seats to granny. Their bus was more or less identical to the SMRT Air-con buses in Singapore. After alighting, we walked for around 15mins before reaching our hotel. The weather in Penang is so hot, it's worse than SG. After settling down, we head for lunch at a nearby coffee shop. The Penang Kway Tiao was yummy. We head to Lek Kok Si (temple) after our lunch. The "Guan Yin" statue there was magnificent. Granny did not climb to the top as it was too tiring for her. The rest of us head up and saw the different statue and so many lovely flowers. We went to buy some local specialities like "Tao Sa Piang" at the nearby shop, and proceed to eat Ice Kaching. Their Ice Kaching is so tasty and cheap. We took bus and head for dinner at Gurney Drive Hawker centre, order a varities of food. After dinner, we went to Gurney plaza and saw a huge crowd of fans and JJ was there to promote his album. Baby managed to take some photo of him. Shop till around 9+pm before we head back to the SPA near to our hotel for some spa session.

2nd Day
Woke up for breakfast at 9am, return back to our room to rest till 11.30am. We head over to Komtar and Praglin Mall to shop around. Left the place at around 3+pm for movie (Being Human) at Gurney Plaza at 5pm. Their cinema is also very similar to GV in SG. The show is quite touching and the storyline reflects alot on our local life. After movie, we proceed for dinner at Oriental Seafood Restaurant (as introduced by podders). The food wasnt that fantastic with few varities. The seafood however were all fresh and you can actually select them from the tank. We head back to our hotel after the late dinner as they were all tired. Baby and me head to a pub downstair for some beer. Back to hotel at around 12midnight.

3rd Day
Woke up for breafast at around 9am, then head back to hotel room to prepare. Mummy, 3rd Aunt and me head over to Praglin Mall to cut hair/do hair treatment while Baby and Granny stayed in the hotel. After we are done with our hair, we head back to the hotel to met up with Granny and Baby. Once again, head over to Praglin mall for our lunch and manicure/pedicure session. As we were in a rush, we took cab to Penang airport. We had to split into 2 cab and each cab cost RM40, so freaking ex to take cab in Penang. Reach SG around 7.15pm and head for dinner at T1. Baby and me were thinking of taking bus (direct bus to Semb) while the 3 of them took cab since we cant possibly squeeze into one cab. When it was the turn for them to took cab, so lucky that it was a huge cab that can cater to 7 person at no additional cost!! We were all laughing at the coincidence.

Granny was really the Joker through out the whole trip:
1. Mummy was asking how much each of us brought, and remind us not to bring too much SGD out. So we were saying we brought very little (around $50 - 100) and when she asked Granny, she say she brought very very little and it turned out to be $200.
2. Granny got blister cause of her shoe. During one of the day we went for breakfast, she left her hotel room conveniently without putting on her shoe!!

Will add on if i think of more..haha
